ROAD UPDATES: Tuesday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m.
The Montello Area is currently under an advised voluntary evacuation due the rising water. A mandatory evacuation has not been issued at this time.
February 11 5:00 p.m. SR-233 : SR-233 will be open for a few hours this evening so residents can leave the area. SR-233's projected re-opening, after repairs, will be 2-3 weeks.
February 11 - 9:00 a.m. : The Sheriff's Office is sending out National Guard trucks and a NDF Helicopter to the Montello and surrounding areas as Pilot Valley. If residents want/need to get out of the area please call our emergency line at 775-777-2520 to coordinate.
Below is the current list of where Elko County residents can get sandbags. Please put around houses and not along the streets.
ELKO – Sandbags are located at the Public Works building on 232 S. 10th St.
WELLS – Rodeo Grounds
